These past two weeks I've had the opportunity to review the Nature Bag. Nature Bags are hand crafted by some of the poorest residents in Laos with a material called JungleVine. The Nature Bag/ Lao Poverty Reduction Project is a privately- financed social enterprise linking the ancient Khmu tribe with its green-living global neighbors. NatureBag.org has an 'About Us' section that includes interviews with the people who craft Nature Bags, definitely check these out, their stories are absolutely heartwarming!
I recieved the Pahk Style to test out. When I first opened the package I thought, "There is no way this can possibly hold many items!" Well, I was proven wrong. I brought it with me to my favorite "bag-free" store and started packing it up. I was extremely surprised with how many things I got into it! The natural shape makes it so that you can't just place items inside neatly, you have to kind of just toss them in. This not only creates more space, but makes the bag much easier to carry. The items automatically shift so that the weight is in just the perfect place!
After I returned I got to thinking. These bags would make great gift bags for Christmas presents! A nice artisan pasta with homemade sauce? A bundle of home-canned jellies and jams? They would present perfectly in this bag! You'd be giving a wonderful gift to someone you know, and giving an irreplacable gift to the women in Southeast Asia who craft these amazing bags!
